Welcome to Halliford Osteopathic Clinic

At Halliford Osteopathic Clinic we tackle a wide range of complaints including;
  • Jaw pain

  • ‘frozen’ or stiff shoulders

  • Golfer’s or tennis elbow

  • Arm and wrist pain

  • Back pain (upper and lower) hip

  • Thigh, calf and shin problems

  • Arthritic pain and stiffness

  • Ankle and foot problems

  • Post-natal re-alignment and sporting type injuries

Our role is to alleviate pain and improve the patient’s function and mobility.

Much of the pain and disability we suffer stems from abnormalities in our body’s structure and function. Robert Simmons (BSc., Ost. Med., Dip. Ost. Med., MGOsC, MASGBI) our Registered Osteopath, diagnoses and treats problems with muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints to help the body’s natural healing ability. He is recognised by Major Healthcare Providers.

Robert believes in reaching a proper diagnosis and to understand not only the symptoms but the underlying causes. In most cases he will aim to reduce or even eliminate the pain or discomfort within 2 to 3 treatments; if he feels that there needs to be further treatment then a full explanation of how the treatment should be managed is given.
Block bookings can be made to reduce the cost for medium to long term treatment plans.
Communication is vital Robert encourages his patient’s to update him either by phone or email, as to the progress after each treatment (usually after 3 days) this helps him monitor progress, plan for the next treatment (if necessary) and or refer to GP or other professional if needed.

About my massage treatments

My massage therapy treatments help to promote relaxation and ease aches and pains. At your first appointment I start by taking a medical history from you and this gives you the opportunity to share with me what you want to achieve from your treatments and how you are feeling in general. I then make up an oil which I feel will be particularly suitable for you and carry out your first treatment.

..............................................................

What happens during a massage treatment?

Typically, a full body massage appointment lasts for an hour. During the treatment, towels will be used to ensure your modesty and I leave the room whilst you are getting undressed, usually down to underwear and covering yourself with a towel.

This is ‘your time’ and if you would like to lie quietly and drift off to sleep, you are welcome and if you would like to talk, then that is fine too.

I play relaxing music during your treatment and encourage your feedback on how you are feeling. You are welcome to come for a Special treat and also, if you would like more regular treatments you may come in on a regular basis either Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly.
