SERVICES

Dr Rachel Harrison has been treating people with CranioSacral Therapy for over 15 years and supports this where indicated with Homeopathy and dietary or medical advice. She also works as a General Practitioner.

As well as her clinical practice Dr Harrison has worked supporting professionals since 1990. She offers one to one sessions, study groups for CranioSacral Therapists and advice on research in Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Using light touch to encourages a deep release of muscular tension. CST is helpful for:
  • Chronic pain
  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Headaches and Migraine
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Unsettled and Sleepless babies
  • Behavioral and learning difficulties in Children

Using a combination of touch, and in children play, CST helps release painful, restricted areas. With the right support a tiny baby will instinctively unwind tension stored in its’ body from birth. Our adult bodies, once relaxed, are equally able to do this, loosening tension that may have been present for many years.

SomatoEmotional Release (SER)

SER is helpful for:
  • Sleep Problems
  • Stress and relaxation
  • Personal Development
  • Anxiety and Depression in adults and teenagers
  • Recovering from physical and emotional trauma
  • Living with chronic pain and illness

When life becomes ‘tough’ our natural response is to tighten up and we often become trapped in our thoughts and anxieties. Finding a way to relax into our bodies is a great source of strength. SER is a way of locating and releasing emotional tension often experienced as pain. In this safe environment tension may be explored physically or verbally losing its hold on our bodies.

Support/Mentoring for Professionals
  • One to one mentoring
  • Study groups
  • Research

Whatever our professional role we often find ourselves caring for others. There will invariably be times when we feel exhausted, burnt out, and even resentful. Challenge comes from colleagues, clients and the work itself. Mentoring sessions allow us a reflective space to think about our work.

Dr Harrison has run study groups for CranioSacral Therapists and offered one to one support to professionals both in and out-with the National Health Service for over 15 years. She is also committed to supporting Complementary Therapists involved in research.
