Welcome to Yoga For Everyone

Yoga classes and yoga workshops in and around Cambridge.

I teach several styles of yoga but most of the classes are a form of Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Iyengar based alignment. At St Andrew's Hall, Chesterton, Cambridge I run a beginners yoga class on Tuesday's and more advanced yoga class on Thursdays with all levels on Monday in Milton and Wednesday in Barrington. There is a slower paced wednesday morning yoga class that begins by working on core strength followed by stretching postures and meditation which is a great class if just getting back to yoga after a break or if you like a more relaxed pace. See the Class Schedule for more information.

The Yoga Workshops are either 1 day or half day and take place on Sundays regularly throughout the year and I also offer private tuition.

About Me

I discovered yoga at the age of 16 when I developed a personal movement routine which included many yoga postures. I went on to study the science of movement in sports and dance to Post Graduate level before training to teach yoga. My initial training was with the Kevala Centre in Devon and I have recently undertaken further training with Tias Little in New Mexico, USA. This training has given me greater insight into the emotional aspects of the body, the importance of soft tissues and the nature and effects of tension held in the body overtime. I found the experience very powerful and feel privileged to be able to share this knowledge with my students.

My own practice draws from both Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa techniques but I am always interested in new ways of approaching my practice and teaching. My styles are Classical Hatha yoga and Vinyasa Flow.

I teach care and maintenance of the body for all ages through alignment and core strength building and encourage a healthy mobility of the joints. I also introduce other aspects of yoga like self awareness, breathing, relaxation techniques and meditation.

Testimonials

"Cynthia deals with each person in the class as an individual providing support for beginners and challenge for others. She shows gentle humour and humility in her class and her practice. She is an inspirational teacher because she is teaching what she lives and there is resonance in what she says. It motivates me to get to class even when I am tired or flagging. Cynthia’s class has had a ‘whole life effect’ for me: She shares her music and journey in an honest and open way without seeking approval and this has helped me find my path again at the age of 44."
Alison Donald

"From the moment I walked in Cynthia made me feel at ease, which was great, as I was nervous about what to expect. Emphasis is placed on getting thngs correct at one's own pace and that it is not a competition. As the class is conducted in an enthusiastic way, it has made me go off and find things out for myself. Yoga has made me calmer with colleagues and customers who give me a hard time."
Nicholas Peat

"Cynthia is a fantastic yoga teacher, and I recommend her to all my friends. I like her enthusiasm for yoga, and her attention to detail. I like the way she structures the classes and that we do a variety of different asanas, including fun ones that I've never done before. She's also very kind and considerate and helps people work at their own pace, in an encouraging way. She's very approachable and will always listen and respond to people's questions."
Becky Finnimore

"Cynthia’s ability to help at every stage of the posture and correct you once in the pose is invaluable. It makes the posture feel right which helps to improve my yoga practice. Her knowledge and teaching skills are fantastic, she is one of the best yoga teachers I have found, she loves to teach and it shows in every class she takes.
"I have a very stressful life running 3 business 2 teenage children and husband and everyday pressures of life. I was advised to take up yoga by my doctor, I have greatly benefited from the breathing and relaxation techniques, this enables me to deal with everyday stressful situations making me more relaxed at work, in all my leisure interests and most of all giving me quality time with my family."
