I am a Humanistic psychotherapist... member of the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA).

Registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a clinical Client-Centered Psychotherapist.

Therapy is not about me understanding the process and feeling self assured... if the client has not perceived anything in the process of therapy then nothing will change... This therapy is about the client perceiving the process and understanding it in their own ways of communication. The goal of Psychotherapy is the enhancement of quality of life...

I have an M.a. in Psychotherapy and a post graduate certification in supervision.

SERVICES

What's different about my approach?

I work from the client's frame of reference, not my own.

This does not mean analyzing, but active listening. It means understanding your mind, your actions, intuitions ..and cognition. Working from your frame of reference. This means I leave my own judgments, intuitions and prejudices out of the therapy room, but not my expertise.

This practice is called non-directive...It simply means that you are the expert on yourselve. I offer my expertise to help you help yourself. This is best described by Peter F Schmid by the "I thou " relationship... of the client and the therapist... this changes round and becomes the "Thou I " and in the final relationship a "we" relationship is formed.

I don't work from the Medical Model

I am a humanist. I do not analyze, diagnose, nor prescribe pharmacuticology. I'm concerned with the quality of life not "fixing" people with drugs ortelling peoplehow to fix themselves.

There are clear paths for the recovery I offer, six conditions for therapy, and nineteen propositions to personality change. (Rogers).

I work with cognition and affect, through changed behaviors (as Ill describe in more detail later) which leads ultimately to personality change.

Altering the behaviors, actions that we don't recognize as our own, and patterns we wish to change in our personality

I am an expert but believe the client to be the expert on themselves.I have a vast knowledge of Psychotherapy but see absolutely no reason to talk to a client in a way that they do not understand ...

Therapy is not about me understanding the process and feeling self assured if the client has not perceived anything in the process of therapy then nothing will change. This therapy is about the client perceiving the process and understanding it in there own ways of communication.

The goal of Psychotherapy is the enhancement of the quality of life... Recent research from the Strathclyde University shows that Modality is not as important as the passion shown, and felt, by the practitioner. paramount to successful therapy.

This is catagoric proof that the relationship once again is paramount in therapeutic interventions. And missed by government and niche in the present settings of change.

How I work

Configurations of self (Dave Mearns)

Client Centered theory of multi-personality. described by other modalities in many ways, but most notably schizophrenia. The voices we hear in our heads. The need we have for many of them, how they are part of every day life and the reality of this recognition. Making sense of our fears.

Fragile and dissociated process - (Margaret Warner)

When configurations are hidden, and maybe of no positive use they can still hide in the numerous configurations that we have created in our minds. They can render us dysfunctional, not fully functioning. and cause us behaviours we wish to address.

Pre- therapy (Gary Prouty).

This is initial contact therapy. For those clients who struggle with mental issues and have difficult in contacting and communicating. It is a system that follows the contact signals of the people that struggle to contact others in there own way. Most notable with Huntington's and certainly dementia
