Symbolism

"Perfect is the Eye of Horus. I have delivered the Eye of Horus, the shining one, the ornament of the Eye of Ra, the father of the Gods." The Pyramid Texts

The Eye Of Horus - The Spa Co registered trademark.

The EYE OF HORUS has a very specific meaning. The wedjat ('Whole One') refers to Egypt's sacred eye symbol. The Eye symbol is a powerful symbol of healing and protection and is also considered to confer strength, wisdom, prosperity and perfection. The right eye is known as the eye of Ra, symbolising the sun. The left is called the Eye of Thoth, symbolising the moon.

Horus was one of the most important Egyptian gods, a sun-god represented as a falcon or with the head of a hawk. He was the son of Osiris (god of the underworld) and Isis (mother goddess). Osiris was slain by his own brother, the chaotic Seth and Horus fought Seth to avenge his father's death, Horus won the battle but lost his left eye in the process. The eye was restored by his wife, the goddess Hathor and by the magic of Thoth, the god of wisdom and the moon.

The left Eye of Horus has been chosen specifically as it symbolises the moon and the close association of the moon with the goddess Isis. The left Eye represents abstract aesthetic information controlled by the right brain. It deals with esoteric thoughts and feelings and is responsible for intuition. It approaches the universe in terms of female oriented ideation. We use the Left Eye, female oriented right side of our brain for feeling and intuition.
