How do I learn Transcendental Meditation?

Transcendental Meditation is taught by qualified teachers in a systematic course of instruction, at convenient locations throughout London & Great Britain.
The course consists of four steps:
Session 1 : personal instruction
In this session you learn Transcendental Meditation on a one to one basis with your instructor. The session is individual so that you can be given all the personal attention necessary to ensure that you have fully grasped the technique. Transcendental Meditation is easy to learn and practice and requires no effort or concentration. However, it is a subtle process and so effective, learning does require the attention, skill and guidance of a qualified instructor. After this session, you go home and practice the technique on your own morning and evening, and return the next day for session two.
Session 2 : verifying the correctness of the practice
This is a group session for everyone who received individual instruction the previous day. The session establishes that everyone is practising transcendental meditation correctly and knows how to recognise correct practice. It also covers all necessary information - for example, how long to meditate, how to begin and end sessions, or how to deal with any sitation which may arise, such as noise or disturbances.
Session 3 : understanding the mechanics of TM
Session Three explains the Mechanics of Transcendental Meditation, on the basis of the experiences you are already gaining during the practice. We explain how the mind experiences more refined levels of awareness, the intimate connection between mind and body and how accumulated stress and tension is released from the nervous system. The session also enables you to understand the full range of experiences that you may have during transcendental meditation.
Session 4 : the long term benefits of the practice - developing higher states of consciousness
In this session we review the information covered so far to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your progress and have grasped the main principles fully. We then examine the cumulative benefits of regular practice of transcendental meditation over time in terms of the development of full human potential and the growth of higher states of consciousness. Finally, we cover several practical issues, including the arrangements for follow-up meetings.
