Welcome to Kanchana Thai Wat Po Massage Treatments

Traditional Thai massage and reflexology has come to Harrogate. Kanchana is from Thailand and studied massage at the famous Buddhist Wat Po temple. She offers the most traditional form of Thai massage and reflexology which is over 2500 years old and can be traced back to India during Buddha’s lifetime. Buddhist monks have used Thai massage in their temples for rejuvenating both mind and body and stimulating the meridians (energy lines) within the body.

Today Thai massage is becoming increasingly popular within the western world. Trades people to office workers all reap the benefits of Thai massage as it relieves the everyday stresses we face in our lives. Tension can often get locked into various parts of the body such as the neck and shoulders, relieving this tension brings about clarity and a calmer sense of being, ultimately making us more happy and effective in our work and lives.

Treatments:

Kanchana offers a range of treatments in Harrogate’s Health and Happiness centre, they include, Traditional Thai Massage, Thai Oil Massage and Thai Foot/Reflexology Massage.

Kanchana would recommend having a two hour treatment which incorporates both a Traditional Thai/Oil Massage with a Thai Foot Massage. This is because they both complement each other beautifully. Thai Massage balances the elements of the mind and body, while Thai Foot Massage stimulates the internal organs, giving the receiver a holistic treatment.

Buddhist philosophy and culture is deeply incorporated into Kanchana’s life and massage practice. So she transmits relaxation and a state of well-being onto her clients.

Thai Massage:

Traditional Thai massage is a unique form of therapy used to relax, rejuvenate and revitalise the body and mind. Over two thousand years ago the Buddhists in Thailand developed skilled massage and body manipulation techniques that help balance the energies of the body by stimulating the natural energy lines (meridians) and pressure points within the body. It is recommended to book at least an hour’s appointment so Kanchana has time to massage the whole of your body giving you a comprehensive treatment. If time doesn’t allow or you just want to try Thai Massage, Kanchana offers shorter appointments focusing on the neck, back and shoulders. These are great to help ‘take the weight off your shoulders’.

Thai Oil Massage:

Thai Oil Massage is extremely relaxing. It tends to be a little softer than Traditional Thai Massage. It’s a wonderfully soothing massage that also focuses on the meridians and pressure points, stimulating the flow of vital energy. The powerful soothing properties of oils relax body and mind, reduce fatigue and clear out toxins from the skin and muscles.

Foot Massage/Relexology:

Foot massage or reflexology is a truly relaxing experience and if you’ve never tried it, it’s definitely worth trying at least a 30 minute introductory session. We’re often on our feet all day, carrying the weight of our body, yet we forget about them. Not only do the feet feel renewed after a session, the massage gives a sense of calmness and serenity. The foot massage stimulates the activity of internal organs. For thousands of years throughout Eastern Asia it has been widely believed that certain areas of the feet correlate to the internal organs and different parts of the body. By massaging the specific areas relexology helps bring about both stress relief and physical healing.
