Through our bureau of volunteers we offer a range of services that include:- Free advice and Disability Information
- Help with Benefit Claims & Form filling, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Blue Badge etc.
- Advocacy & Support
- Disability Awareness Training
- Access Audits
- Wheelchair Hire
- Photo copying @ 10p per sheet.
- Second Hand Equipment.
The team at DisCASS has worked very hard for 2008 and are ready for the challenge for 2009.
There have been many ups and downs over the years, as many groups would understand the struggle to survive the constant pressure in finance and making the changes needed to ensure the survival of their charity.
We have restructured our team and are very confident on how efficient our charity is moving forward. We have shown our public, our members and our local governments that we aim to provide our service with the professional and businesslike approach that is expected.
It is now through the efforts of the team that we have gained the respect of our Counseling bodies and have earned their support to be accepted for several grants this year towards our running costs and projects. One of which is to introduce our new database and website this year.
We have re-introduced our Access Audits and Disability Awareness Training programs and we hope to expand our Advocate service. We will also be busy with our street collections and fairs for 2009 of which we are always overwhelmed with our public support and generosity.
The team cannot thank our supporters enough for their kindness and generosity and although we understand this year will be harder than most because of the recession we can assure you all that we will be fighting fit to make sure our service will be even stronger for 2009.
