I offer one to one therapy sessions, usually in my home in Waddington, Near Clitheroe, Lancashire. I also offer mobile therapy which means that I can visit you at your home. I also teach mindfulness. This can be learnt by itself or combined with CBT (this is known as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy).

I abide by the BABCP ethical code of practice which means that everything that you say to me is treated with the strictest confidence. Your privacy is of paramount importance to me.

The first session is free. This is normally done on the phone. In this session we get to know each other a little so that we feel comfortable working together.I will ask you a bit about yourself, your background, your personal history. We will look at the issues that you feel are a problem in your life and decide which issue you want to deal with. If we both feel that I can help you then we can arrange to have another session in which we begin to look at the processes involved in your situation and how these can be changed for the better.

If we decide to work together then expect to see desirable and sustainable results.

Destructive behaviour such as binge eating, self harm, substance misuse will start to fall away.
You will experience less negative emotions such as anger, fear and anxiety
If you do have feelings of fear, anxiety or panic you will be more aware of them and the time that you experience them will be much shorter.
Expect to start creating a life worth living.
Expect too feel happier.

Therapy is a joint process between me and you. Together we work out the best strategies and skills best suited for you. We will build a strong therapeutic bond that is built on mutual trust. You will be empowered to make dramatic changes in your life.

Therapy with me provides you with a toolbox of coping strategies that ensure that you will have tangible results. To do this be prepared to work hard. Each session will set you ‘homework’ which involves setting goals, trying out tools and new skills. This can often be challenging work, so be prepared to go outside your comfort zone. Remember, you will not be coerced into doing something that you really do not want to do.

Therapy sessions take place in the informal setting my home therapy room. This is a warm and safe environment where everything that is discussed is treated in absolute confidence.
