Weather it is an Aromatherapy or Reflexology treatment that you have decided to look into I will be pleased to help.
Each of the treatments is looked at in a holistic manner, which means that I will be looking at you in the whole – mind, body and spirit. To enable me to do this I like to take a detailed consultation for the first meeting followed by a treatment. This is to see how it is best to help you, and what it is that you are looking for.
By the treatments being in a holistic manner you too have a say over the treatments and you are just as much a part of them as I am, the aim is to work together to bring about well-being for you.
AROMATHERAPY
“A complex area, which includes botany, organic chemistry, essential oil knowledge and massage to a patient/client “. The essential oils can be applied by the use of massage, creams, lotions, used in the bath, and vaporisers, thus entering into the body’s blood system.
The use of Aromatherapy oils is to help not only on an emotional level such as relaxing or stimulating but work on a physical level too, as in helping with chronic pain management.
REFLEXOLOGY
“Treatment employing manual pressure to specific areas of the body, usually the feet, which are thought to correspond to internal organs with a view to generate positive health effects” (Mackareth and Tiran, 2002).
This technique can also be a way of reconnecting the body that may otherwise be overlooked such as the hands or feet, especially for those who are undergoing palliative care. This can be a useful way to reduce stress and anxiety.
