Welcome to eglantine hallo osteopath

Eglantine hallo was born in France but has lived in the UK until she was 15 years old. She spent three years in France to finish her schooling in an international lycee and pass the baccalaureat. She returned to the UK
to study at the European School of Osteopathy in Kent.

Eglantine Hallo graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2009.

During her two last years of training she gained a high level experience by working over one thousand hours at the ESO clinic and treating over fifty new patients as well as continuing patients. She developed a wide variety of treatment approaches such as structural, cranial and visceral.

Eglantine is a registered member of the General Osteopathic Council and the Bristish Osteopathic Association. This requires her to have continued professional development and hold a valid insurance for practising.

The Treatment

Osteopaths consider each person as an individual therefore treatment is different for every patient.

Treatment includes techniques such as soft tissue massage to release tension, joint articulation and manipulation to improve mobility, cranial technique to rebalance the body and visceral technique to release deeper restrictions.

Osteopathy may help with a wide range of conditions including :
  • Back pain/Poor posture
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Neck and shoulder tension/Frozen shoulder
  • Sports injuries/Tennis elbow/Foot and knee complaints
  • Sciatica/Arthritic pain and rheumatic pain
  • Pre and post-natal pelvic and back pain
  • Menstrual pain, digestive problems or irritable bowels
  • Stress related problems
  • Jaw and sinus pains

Osteopathy for Babies

During birth, the baby is subjected to enormous forces. The baby's head has the remarkable ability to absorb these stresses in a normal delivery.

However, some deliveries are more traumatic than others and this can affect the baby's body. Stresses are found in the cranium as well as in the rest of the body and cranial osteopathy may help to release these tensions.

The conditions that are commonly seen in practice are :
  • Wind, colic and sleep difficulties
  • Irritable babies
  • Feeding difficulties and teething problems
  • Earache, glue ear
  • Sinus problems, asthma, recurrent chest infections
  • Hyperactivity and stress
  • Club foot

Visceral Osteopathy

Viscera is the collective name for the organs present in the chest and abdomen. Visceral osteopathy therefore seeks to release tensions from the tissues of these organs to allow them to function freely.

Often when there is a build up of tension in these organs they exert a pull on the spine through their ligamentous attachments. Visceral osteopathy may also aid functional problems of poor digestion or restricted breathing by directly addressing poor mobility of the organs in question.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that encourages the release of stresses and tensions throughout the body, including the head.

It is a gentle yet extremely effective approach and may be used in a wide range of conditions for people of all ages, from birth to old age. Cranial osteopaths are trained to feel a very subtle, rhythmical shape change that is present in all body tissues. This is called Involuntary Motion or the Cranial Rhythm.
Tension in the body disrupts the cranial rhythm.

Practitioners compare what your rhythm is doing to what they consider ideal. This shows them what stresses and strains your body is under at present, and what tensions it may be carrying as a result of its past history. It also gives them an insight into the overall condition of your body, for example if it is healthy, or stressed and tired.
