Ayurvedic practice draws on thousands of years of knowledge from ancient Indian medical practices which aim to restore health to an individual.
Aryuveda is not singularly a medical practice but, for some, can become a way of life.
The practice of Aryuveda can be through herbal medicines, changes in diet, meditation, massage and yoga, all of which are prescribed toward restoring and maintaining health.
The Ayurvedic belief is that sickness is caused by imbalances in your body which are harmful for your mind and body. Aryuveda practice is categorised as a body of holistic healing which can be applied to everyday life.
Many medical studies have been conducted on individuals who practice Ayurvedic methods and the results have shown that these individuals are re at a decreased risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and stress, all factors for heart disease. Herbal remedies within the treatment are considered to help allergies, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, menstrual cramps, Parkinson's disease, and digestive disorders, including constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.
An initial Aryuveda consult will establish your health profile through a series of questions about your physical, emotional, mental and eating habits. This can take anywhere between 45-90 minutes, depending on the practitioner and the individual. It is a non-invasive consultation, at the end of which, your Ayurvedic treatments will be prescribed.
