Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a safe, natural effective form of therapy. There are no harmful side effects associated with hypnotherapy; on the contrary it is a relaxing and positive experience during which negative barriers are broken down and replaced with control, balance, positive well-being and inner strength to empower you.

When administered by a professionally trained and skilled Hypnotherapist the benefits are long lasting.

Hypnosis is a two-way process between the therapist and the client. During hypnosis the client is neither asleep or unconscious but is awake and in control. The hypnotic state has been likened to a daydream, where your mind temporarily drifts from one thing to another, simply with a higher state of awareness.

Clinical Hypnotherapists use hypnosis not only as an intervention for medical purposes but also as an aid to the resolution of many problems of psychological origins. It should be noted that Hypnosis does not claim to cure. Medical conditions should always be discussed with your doctor.

It is estimated that approximately 85% of people of all age groups and backgrounds will readily respond to Hypnotherapy. It is often successful when other, more conventional methods of treatment have failed.

The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is an organization which governs the Code, Practice and Ethics of its Members. Time Line Therapy

Time Line Therapy works with a concept of time and how we personally store memories which affect our own individual personality.

Time Line Therapy techniques allow us to identify and resolve past issues, heal negative emotions, remove unwanted thoughts or behaviours and install positive future memories and traits to help us achieve our goals.

We may not consciously be aware of where and why a problem originates, it could be from several years ago, during childhood, in the womb, or even earlier, but all the information needed to resolve the problem is stored somewhere within our memory. Time Line Therapy lets us seek it out and heal it.


What can you use Time Line Therapy for?


  • Bringing memories up to date to discover those which are helping us to move forward and those which hinder and therefore block our true potential.

  • Getting rid of negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear and guilt.

Personal Breakthrough Life Coaching

We all have the ability and often the desire and need to change, grow, learn and develop. However at times we may feel ‘stuck in a rut’. You may be unsure how to progress in certain areas of your life, how to develop, how to be more resourceful or how to achieve your goals. You may not even be sure what your goals are. If you relate to any of these or similar issues, coaching can help you gain the clarity to be where you want to be.

Personal breakthrough coaching can help you quickly and effectively break through the barriers holding you back and assist you to make positive steps forward to unlock and maximize your potential.

Julie can help you with your career direction, personal development, relationship issues and general fulfillment. Coaching helps you to bring out the best in yourself, create a path you wish to follow and successfully follow it.

A personalized programme will be developed for you, relating to your individual needs to take into account the length of time necessary to resolve the issues which might mean weekly contact initially for 2 or 3 sessions, or every two weeks, or monthly intervals. This service can be provided face to face in Wakefield, or if more convenient in the comfort of your own home, or workplace over the telephone.

Julie will ask you to complete a questionnaire, free of charge to ascertain if this is the most suitable course of action. If it is deemed not the best option for you, we can discuss the alternative pathways.

Counselling

Counselling has been described as the “talking therapy” whereby the therapist helps the client to deal with personal issues which are having a detrimental impact on their life. This is achieved through a conversation between the client and the therapist and the use of therapeutic skills and tools.

Counselling can provide the catalyst for change. All counseling is completely confidential and conducted in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment. Counselling assists with specific psychological or behavioural traits as well as general concerns and difficulties coping with feelings, uncertainties, loss of purposed etc.

People from all walks of life come to counselling to talk freely and openly about bottled up feelings, i.e. anger, anxiety, grief, embarrassment. Clients are helped to explore feelings.

Emotional Freedom Technique

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a relatively new intervention in the UK developed by Gary Craig in the USA. The roots of EFT came from Dr Roger Callahan’s Thought Field Therapy (TFT) using acupuncture meridians (no needles involved) and kinesiology principles.

EFT has been described as a natural, non-invasive, safe and effective way to eliminate the cause of negative emotions by correcting energy imbalances in the body. These imbalances have profound effects on our mind and emotions. Correcting these imbalances, which is done by tapping with your fingers on certain meridian points on the body, often leads to rapid relief. This well established technique helps restore life balance and energy flow.

EFT does not claim to remove problems, what it does is removes the negative emotional feeling and charge associated with the problem. This technique has helped thousands of people to cope with and manage difficulties very effectively.


EFT can be used on:


  • Simple anxiety and stress.

  • Simple phobias.

  • Past traumas, love, pain, grief, guilt.

  • Addictive urges and cravings to help free addictions to cigarettes, chocolate etc.

  • Anger and rage.

  • Inducing Rapid Relaxation.

  • Obsession/compulsions (OCD).

  • Depression.

  • Physical pain.

  • Fear and panic.

  • Intense feelings that hold you back.

  • Negative emotions and limiting beliefs.


EFT can be self administered. You will be taught how to do this effectively during your sessions with Julie so that you can continue to work to remove blockages in the comfort or your own home, or when you need to.

Meditation

The art of meditation is practiced for many reasons: the fundamental principle of this holistic discipline is ‘awareness’ or ‘mindfulness’; a state in which your mind is free from distractions and everyday chatter.

Meditation brings a feeling of inner peace, calm, serenity, focus and clarity.

Meditation derives from Buddhist practice and has been adapted in a way which has made it very popular in the Western world. To practice the art of meditation you do not need to belong to, or believe in any particular Religious or Spiritual system.

The regular practice of Meditative techniques can help you cope better with whatever problems life is throwing at you, be they personal problems or health/physical problems or stress and anxiety.

There are a number of Meditative techniques and styles having a common thread which relies on the process of contemplation and reflection, the method you choose is down to personal choice.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a powerful complementary therapy which involves applying finger and thumb pressure to reflexes usually on the feet, but can be carried out on the hands, ears or face. These reflex points correspond with certain areas within the body and the stimulation of these points promotes health in the corresponding body part. The feet, hands, face and ears contain a map of the body.

Reflexology is a holistic therapy which serves the person as a whole, taking into account physical, emotional and spiritual aspects. Reflexology helps to release energy imbalance, improve circulation and encourage the elimination of toxins restoring health and vitality.

Reflexology has been show to:


  • Reduce Stress.

  • Induce feelings of deep relaxation.

  • Increase energy levels.

  • Release endorphins which in turn eases pain and increases feelings of well-being.

  • Improves circulation.

  • Boosts the immune system.

  • Provides relief from Migraine, Asthma, Irritable Bowel syndrome.

  • Relieve constipation.

  • Lower high blood pressure.

  • Improve fertility and improve gynaecological conditions such as PMS.

  • Provide relief from neurological conditions.



Reflexology is suitable for most people, but there are certain conditions which should be avoided. All treatments begin with a consultation and in some instances your doctor’s permission may be required before treatments can commence.

A reflexology treatment lasts for approximately one hour and you remain fully clothed, only removing your shoes and socks. You will be invited to relax on a treatment couch or reclining chair. Your feet will be cleansed at the start of the treatment and then the treatment will commence with a gentle massage of the feet (or hands, or face if more appropriate) using a non perfumed cream or lotion, followed by specific pressure techniques to the reflexes to suit your individual needs.

At the end of your treatment Julie will give you an individually blended cream containing essential oils to suit your condition which you can apply in between reflexology treatments to boost the process. There is no extra charge for this. If you do not wish to have essential oils added, you still take the cream with you.

Reflexology is deeply relaxing and re-energising therapy and has a highly beneficial impacxt on a variety of physical and psychological concerns.

Julie specializes in breaking through psychogenic infertility and in the year 2009 to 2010 has helped 5 out of 7 clients who had been experiencing difficulty in conceiving to produce healthy babies.

Julie is a fully qualified reflexologist and teacher of reflexology having written and had accredited vocational courses in the subject.
