Welcome to Balance in a Natural Way
Hello my name is Sue Kohler i'm based in Surbiton and Hersham and have been practising since 1996.
Prevention is 'key' in Complementary Therapy and as massage is one of the oldest and simplest forms of healthcare, regular treatments can help maintain our health and Homeostasis.
It makes sense to keep our tissues soft, our joints flexible and our digestion strong as our health is our most valuable asset. Poor health could bring enormous change in both lifestyle and the dreams we have. So Lifestyle is the New Doctor. Just as we anticipate change in our professional life, we can do the same with health and well being. It's a good rule not to ignore symptoms such as aches and pains that keep returning as this could be our bodies way of telling us we are in need of attention.
Let's aim for our health to reflect in our lifestyle and our lifestyle will reflect in our health. Change starts with our intention..
Feel free to contact me by e-mail or phone leaving a short message. A text is also good, should I be working with an existing client. Please leave your name too.
My working day's are Monday and Wednesday. Thanks Sue.
A 'star' by the Massage title means.. * LADIES ONLY
Works along the zones and meridians of the body, to relax and restore balance on all levels.
Added variations include movements from Mongolian Foot Massge and also the use of Hot Stones for added treat in winter.
Indian Head Massage
Profound in it's simplicity & unique in it's effect. This massage is performed on the upper body, neck and head. It calms the mind and spirit and helps put life into perspective. A great chill-out for the weekend.
Indian Face Massage
This face massage helps improve complexion and skin tone, relaxing tense muscles and tissue. Movements from Mongolian Koyashai Eye Massage can be added for extra stimuli. This massage would compliment Acupunctures natural face-lift.
Table Thai Massage
Thai massage is where massage and yoga meet in gentle rhythmic movement and slow yogic stretches. Working along the Sen Lines. Improving flexibility, helping to stem muscle shortening and enhance well-being. Wear soft clothes
Mae-Tao Massage *
A balancing and energizing treatment for areas of the body we use the most. This massage is oil based with just a touch of rhythmic Thai to lull you into total relaxation. A little pampering when you need a pick-me-up.
Hawaiian (Lomi Lomi) Massage *
Traditionally preformed using long fluid stokes that allow for movement over large areas of the body, the Hawaiian Massage draws out tension and induces deep relaxation.
Hot Stone Fusion Therapy *
Heated basalt stones are used in this massage. Using oil the stones glide over the body providing deep penetrating heat. This increases blood flow which improves circulation, helps to reduce stress, tension in the muscles and mind. With certain conditions cold stones are used.
This massage is not suitable while pregnant or with heat disease condition.
This massage is performed fully clothed. Gentle and continuous rocking motions which vary in speed and pressure giving pause, to pick up the rhythm again else where on the body. Acupressure and tapping are part of this treatment to relieve deep tension in the body. Wear soft clothes.
Helps relax tense muscles, shifting posture, improves circulation which helps balance hormones and emotional changes.
Tuina Chinese Massage
Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and Tuina are part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and therefore based on the same principles. A Tuina treatment differs from other massages in the vigorousness of it's application incorporating pushing, kneading, pressing friction vibration the use of acupressure points and rolling techniques. These stimulate the body internally to restore an uninterrupted flow of Qi. Wear soft clothes.
This slow concise massage gets to grips with tired aching muscles, finding the sore points on your back, even the ones you weren't aware of. Sesame oil is used as this benefits the skin.
Fire Cupping and Moxa
CUPPING is the use of glass cups heated inside creating suction and placed on the troubled area of the body. Cupping moves Blood & Qi, enhances a treatment and can stimulate the immune response. Can be used in combination with Tuina. MOXA is used to warm the body internally and is often performed in combination with acupuncture and/or Tuina.
"For rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose, and loosen a joint that is too rigid".

Massage for Schools Program
This massage is designed to be used in school. Children under adult supervision learn to give and receive positive touch from each other through massage. They are required to sit in a chair and give or receive massage to the arms, upper back, neck and head. They then thank each other.
Feeling calm, better able to concentrate on work, not so much bullying, better peer relationships, self-esteem improved, learn positive touch and know the difference. This has a knock-on affect for the school, parents and the world. Helping our children to become global citizens of the future.
Parents create your own feel-good factor at home and learn this massage too!
