Welcome to Sérénité

"Bringing peace & calm after the storm...."

Via Holistic body massage, Indian Head, Thai Foot, Hot Stone therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) or seated acupressure.

The Holistic Approach

...Is the interaction between the body & the mind.
Derived from the Greek word 'holos' meaning whole, complete, it reinforces the need to treat the body as a whole unit.
In massage concentrating on the body as a connected entity to the mind, will help to stimulate the release of endorphins, which produces the feel good chemicals. Healthy body, mind, emotions & spirit. Balance & harmony of the body, also referred to as the Yin & Yang, is maintained by homeostasis which ensures that our internal & external condition (temperature) is working in unison.

How I work:

Every persons body tells a story.
Sometimes, you know what affects you & sometimes, you have no idea of the impact of day to day tasks & situations.

I tailor your treatment to suit you, by way of consultation & analyzing your posture.

I do not provide any sexual services or tantric massage.

If you have any conditions that are of concern, this will be discussed to assess whether a particular therapy can be applied to you.

I use traditional massage techniques & apply them to suit the area of the body that requires them.
My pressure ranges from deep tissue massage through to light & relaxing & I gauge this by asking you what feels best.

Touch therapy or treatments are not governed by age.
Babies through to the elderly can all benefit from massage.

This is my approach when providing all body massages, Indian Head, Thai Foot, Hot Stone therapy, seated acupressure & MLD.

Treatments:

Full Body Massage - oil

I use a series of long gliding strokes, kneading and friction techniques to aid the release of toxins, tension and stress found within the muscles. The aim is to promote relaxation and well-being. Massage benefits both the mind and body. An hour's peace and quiet away from ringing phones and the daily demands has a definite restorative effect.

1-1.5 hours - first appointment including consultation

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Is a slow, light pressured treatment that uses a range of specialised and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to encourage the lymph fluid to move towards the nodes. Stimulation of the system encourages clearing of waste materials and encourages the immune system to improve

1-1.5 hours - first appointment including consultation
For multiple treatments, please enquire for discounts

Full Body Massage - Hot Stone (Therapy Room only)

A soothing and heated massage in which I use Basalt lava stones to place on specific points around the body letting the heat penetrate deep into the muscles. Using Swedish massage strokes, the stones are held whilst massaging with oil to generate warmth and relaxation.
The aim is to improve circulation and function as the heat increases the blood supply to the muscles. Toxins and waste are also eliminated more quickly due to the warmth, relieving pain in muscles and joints and tension in connective tissue.
To restore harmony & balance, crystals are laid on the chakra points along the central meridian of the body

1-1.5 hours - first appointment including consultation

Thai Foot

This massage uses thumbs, palms, fingers and a wood stick with cream or oil.
Starting from the sole of foot the aim is to balance the body's elements by stimulating the activity of internal organs
I use the stick to apply pressure to specific points known to activate healing and balancing throughout the body like in Reflexology. By manipulating these different points, the body and the mind are stimulated to restore the balance in that particular area and thereby throughout the whole body.

Indian Head

A fully clothed, whilst seated treatment which begins with deep kneading and probing of the neck and shoulder muscles. I then work on the head and scalp by squeezing, rubbing, gently tapping and prodding. The hair is briskly tussled and gently combed. The same techniques can be applied to those with no hair aswell (less the tussling and combing)
I finish the treatment by doing a facial. This stimulates the acupressure points to help relieve any sinus pressure, activating the circulation and increasing alertness.

Seated Acupressure

A fully clothed, whilst seated treatment which begins with deep kneading and probing of the back.
The sequence of movement's works to improve the flow of energy throughout the body’s meridian lines, while strengthening and balancing the muscular, circulation and nervous systems. I use my hands, fingers, thumbs and elbows to apply pressure to the acupressure points. This will leave the client feeling relaxed, yet alert and revitalized.
