    WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

A natural and drugless therapy, Reflexology is based upon the application of pressure to minute reflex points in the feet. These points correspond to every part, organ and function of the body.

The origins of Reflexology can be traced to ancient China where it shares the same roots as acupuncture. The ancient Egyptians from 2500BC practised it, and certain African tribes and the native Indian people of North America have long known the use of pressure stimulation to the feet.

Working through neural pathways, Reflexology creates a stimulating effect from the top of the head to the tips of the toes, throughout the nervous system, culminating in the brain. It improves blood supply, restores balance to the body’s systems and deeply relaxes the recipient

Reflexology activates our natural powers of recovery and encourages the body to heal itself. It brings about change physically, mentally and spiritually. It is used confidently in treating most common ailments and provides many health benefits, which an increasing number of people are enjoying in their everyday life.

The treatment is simple and very pleasant, and may be applied wherever you can be comfortable with your feet up. There is no need to undress – just remove your shoes and socks, lie back and enjoy!!!

PLEASE NOTE: Reflexology is not intended as a sole treatment for serious illness. When you are ill, always consult your doctor.

    HOW WILL REFLEXOLOGY BENEFIT ME?
  • Reflexology is suitable for the treatment of most common conditions and for all ages
  • Deeply relaxing for the whole body
  • Relaxes nervous tension and improves nerve function.
  • Calms the mind and emotions
  • Removes tension from muscles and joints
  • Improves circulation, including feet, ankles and lower legs
  • Improves the efficiency of the digestive system
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Balances the functions of internal organs, glands and control systems of the body
  • Relieves the physical symptoms of stress and improves our ability to cope
  • Brings about a general feeling of well being
  • For the Reflexologist, the feet provide information relating to the client’s state of health, which forms a basis for treatment, and allows progress to be monitored.
  • Reflexology is drug free, entirely non-invasive and wholly natural.

    HOW SHOULD I USE REFLEXOLOGY?

    WHEN YOU ARE ILL

Many diseases take years to manifest in the body, and a single Reflexology session will not reverse the process over night. When we are ill or in recovery, we may need frequent treatments depending on the condition. As we improve, the frequency can be reduced.

In the case of chronic illness, Reflexology may be used at regular intervals to relieve symptoms and forestall secondary conditions. Reflexology may be safely used to complement most conventional treatments.

There are many conditions that Reflexology has been known to help. Amongst these are:-

Asthma, colitis, constipation, cystitis, depression, hay fever, high blood pressure, indigestion, insomnia, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), migraine, oedema, stress, sinus problems and vertigo

These are only a few to give an example.

    WHEN YOU ARE WELL

It is precisely because most illnesses become established over time that Reflexology can be a preventer of disease.

For a healthy individual, a monthly treatment prevents the build up of minor problems caused by stress that can eventually result in more serious conditions.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER THERAPIES AVAILABLE?

Indian Head Massage is a seated massage of the upper back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp. It can be done through light clothing, but is more effective when massage and essential oils are used on exposed skin.

Reiki is a gentle, deeply relaxing, hands-on therapy which promotes healing on physical, emotional and spiritual levels.

Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage use techniques, which free up muscles and encourage a normal range of movement within the body.

Aromatherapy Massage is a light massage of the skin with the benefits of essential oils to improve circulation and increase lymphatic drainage, help relaxation, relieve stress and enhance well-being.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is the therapy for you if you want to make changes in your life – giving up smoking, weight control, stress management, phobias, performance anxiety. These are just a few areas where Hypnotherapy can really make a difference
