Reiki Therapist
Reiki is an ancient healing method that was rediscovered in ancient sanskrit texts by a Japanese scholar, Mikaomi Usui. Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a simple, natural and safe method of healing. It is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient using their hands to activate the natural healing processes of the body, and restore physical and emotional well-being. It is used for relaxation, stress reduction and also promotes healing and self-improvement. Reiki flows through the therapist’s hands at different rates of speed, depending on various factors such as the extent of the recipient’s illness, degree of blockage, his or her readiness to accept change and so on. Reiki has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki’s gift of increased energy and vitality can be extended to anyone. It doesn’t matter what a person’s gender, race, religion or financial status is. Reiki is not a healing energy reserved for the elite or spiritually evolved.

How does Reiki work?
Reiki is spiritually guided life force energy. There are seven major chakras in our body, each chakra transfers energy to smaller chakras called nadis. Therapies such as reflexology, massage, and acupuncture techniques are all based on our innate energy system. Physical discomfort and ailments stem from blockages in the flow of energy. Reflexologists manipulate certain points in the feet to release energy blocks, acupuncturists place needles in specific acupoints to release the block and allow energy to flow. Reiki does the same thing using a technique with hands that clears the energy blocks by boosting the flow with like for like energy that is channeled through. Reiki works at bringing us into balance and reinforces the bodies natural ability to heal itself at all levels. The healing energy can feel hot or cold, and there may be tingling sensations. Some people feel very relaxed and may even fall asleep. 

Seichem
Seichem (pronunced say-keem) is a powerful energy that is similar to Reiki healing. It is a higher vibration that works on the aura and our higher selves to establish healing in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. Seichem works to repair the aura as well as the physical body and helps to remove blockages. When physical ailments get treated and the higher bodies are left untreated, there is a high risk in the return of physical conditions. 

How does Seichem work?
The energy field is also called the Aura which is a holistic system involving our chakras and higher bodies. A distruption in the flow to the aura occurs when we are mentally and emotionally out of balance. Seichem flows into the aura, chakras and physical body and helps a person to gently deal and release these energy blocks that are causing stress, depression or anxiety. When we are balanced, we tend to have mental clarity, emotional stability, physical health, and energy and vitality for life.

My name is Joanne McBride, I am a professionally qualified Reiki and Seichem Master as well as a qualified Nurse. I am a member of the UK Reiki and Seichem Association (RASA), and I live by the Mourne Mountains in Newcastle Co. Down. The therapies that I provide are Reiki, Seichem, Crystal therapy, Chakra balancing, Energy clearing and distance healing.
