Indian Sports Massage: Literally meaning foot pressure, Chavutti Thirumal uses only the therapists feet to deliver the treatment, using coconut oil and long, sweeping strokes from the fingers to the toes. The therapist holds a rope suspended from the ceiling for balance. This technique is also known as Indian Sports Massage, since it was originally developed to tone the muscles of Kerali warriors before battle.

Thai Yoga Massage: Often described as ‘yoga that’s done to you’, Thai yoga massage combines deep tissue massage and assisted yoga stretches leaving you feeling deeply relaxed. The massage is performed through loose clothing such as you would wear for yoga.

Indian Yoga Massage: Performed on a futon, this massage uses sesame oil and calamus powder which has exfoliating qualities. As well as his hands, the therapist uses his feet, leaning on a stool, applying deep strokes to your back and thighs. Yoga stretches leave you relaxed and flexible.

Abhyanga Massages: Hot oil Ayurvedic massage: combining flowing massage strokes with pressure to energy points. A range of Abhyanga massages are available: back massage; full body massage; pregnancy massage; anti-ageing face massage; head/neck/arm massage; lower leg and foot massage; herbal compress massage and detox body scrub. Read descriptions of the different types of Abhyanga massage available here

Ayurvedic Deep Tissue Massage: uses the thumbs, fingers, knuckles, fists, forearms and elbows with varying intensity. This allows the therapist to go much deeper into the body, relieving muscular pains. I use Ayurvedic oil infused with indian herbs: Brahmi and Shikakai leaving your body smelling heavenly!

Massage training for couples: Learn pain relieving Thai massage techniques and how to do them on your partner. Great gift idea for anniversaries or birthdays. One hour taster session; three hour intensive back massage lesson or five hour-long sessions scheduled to suit your diary.

Ayurvedic baby massage training for parents: Babies can be massaged every day from birth for up to a year after they are born, and throughout childhood. Baby massage: improves parent–child bonding, calms the baby and improves sleeping patterns, improves digestion and relieves colic and constipation. One hour lesson (one to one tuition). Price includes an illustrated manual with detailed instructions to take away with you so you can massage your baby at home. Read more

Massage training for children: Learn child-friendly massage techniques given through clothes, performed by children on each other or parents. About me
I first got interested in massage in 1999 when I undertook a Shiatsu massage practitioner’s course at the Ki Kai School of Shiatsu. At the time I was not yet ready to set up business as a massage practitioner, however I’ve spent much of my spare time during the Noughties giving massages to friends and colleagues at London Cycling Campaign and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), where I worked for 12 years.

I have full public liability insurance from the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA) of which I am a member. I’m also a member of the Thai Healing Alliance and the Massage in Schools Association (MISA).
