Aromatherapy & Massage

What is it?
Aromatherapy is a complementary form of treatment and therapy with its roots based in ancient healing practices. The treatments make use of pure essential oils, derived from plants known for their medicinal value. These oils are diluted in a carrier oil and applied through massage to the body.

Whether you are seeking a relaxing destress or a deep-tissue remedial massage to ease the pains of tension, strain, sprains or injury our Practitioners are qualified and experienced to help.

Benefits?
Many discomforts that we try to live with are due to our ‘modern day living’. Aromatherapy can enhance our health and well-being helping promote vitality and improve our performance, whether it be at work, in the everyday ‘fast lane’ living where most of us can still be afflicted by stress and tension or at play.

Major benefits can be gained for sporting activities such as golf, cricket, tennis etc, where the smallest muscular strain can cause games or competitions to be missed. Also for those ’expecting’, Aromatherapy is a wonderful treatment alleviating the side effects of pregnancy, such as stretch marks, water retention, morning sickness, back pain and also for postnatal depression.

Reflexology

What is it?
Reflexology is a therapy for activating the healing powers of the body through treatment of the feet or hands. Based on long established principles the treatments have been developed to the modern day method of reflexology.

Using the principles of energy zones and reflexes that run through the body and feet which correspond with all the organs and systems of the body, pressure is applied to the feet (or hands) in a systematic way providing both an assessment tool and treatment at the same time.

Benefits?
The treatment induces deep relaxation, reduces stress, improves circulation, balances the body’s systems, revitalises and cleanses the body.

Bowen

What is it?
The Bowen Technique is primarily a remedial treatment. It differs from many other therapies in that it does not attempt to inflict the will of the therapist onto the client, instead it offers the body the opportunity to restore structural integrity. The technique consists of a series of gentle rolling type moves over muscle and soft tissue using a light pressure and may be applied through light clothing. Between these moves are short breaks where the client is left to allow the body to respond to each stage of the treatment and make the subtle adjustments to rebalance, relieve tension and reduce pain.

The Bowen Technique addresses the body as a whole rather than just the presenting symptom: it embraces the physical, chemical, emotional and mental aspects of each person receiving a treatment. The result is a positive, healthy impact on a person by providing more energy and an overall sense of well being.

Benefits?
Whilst Bowen is extremely effective as a remedial therapy for those overcoming sports injuries, accidents and other ailments many people health enjoy regular treatments to maintain optimal health and body balance. The Bowen Technique improves rehabilitation time, regardless of how old or recent the injury may be. The technique is gentle enough to treat anyone f rom newborn to elderly, pregnant ladies, chronically or terminally ill patients.

Iridology

What is it?
If you look closely at the iris in someone’s eye you will see a pattern of colours, textures and markings unique to that person. Together these features form a map, a blueprint, which gives anIridologist valuable information about a person’s inherited strengths and weaknesses and general state of well-being. Each part of the iris relates to a particular organ or system in the body, and genetic markings make it easy for the Iridologist to assess the constitution of the individual, helping the recognition of potential weakness often years before symptoms become apparent.

Iris examination is simple, painless and non-invasive. Illuminated lenses are used so that the markings and colours in each iris can be more easily seen and analysed. Sometimes photographs of the eyes are taken so that the findings can be clearly shown and explained to the patient.

Benefits?
Many illnesses occur because of an organ or system imbalance – for instance headaches can be the result of liver dysfunction – and iridology can help to reveal such causes. Together with other information gained during the consultation, the efficiency of various body systems can be assessed, making iridology invaluable in helping to decide the best course of action to take, and also to help plan preventative treatment.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy

What is it?
Cognitive Hypnotherapists work from an understanding of the mind-body connection that is based on modern neuroscience. The approach follows the principle that our thoughts affect our feelings, which directly affects our behaviour. It blends together leading-edge techniques such as cognitive behaviour therapy, emotional freedom technique (EFT), positive psychology and neurolinguistic programming (NLP).

Benefits?
Modern neuroscience shows that the unconscious controls 90 per cent of our behaviour, so if you have emotions or behaviours that don't respond to your conscious efforts to change or control them, "updating" your unconscious could help.

Life & Personal Development Coaching

What is it?
As we journey through life, we go through numerous changes - relationships, career, growing older - they are all a part of the human experience. Sometimes, however, we find the road is not as smooth as expected or we get stuck in the midst of transitions, unsure which way to turn or importantly how to move forward.

A confidential and personalised coaching programme supports and mobilises clients. Working through a structured process of objective questioning, evaluation and restructuring, clients achieve clarity to make well informed decisions and develop an increased confidence in themselves and their ability.

Coaching works through a combination of synergy, structure and expertise.
The client and coach become a team, focusing on the client’s needs and hopes for the future. • A coach takes you through a programme of questioning thoughts and feelings, challenging beliefs and exploring perceived outcomes. Working through the process, a client will take more actions, think clearer and achieve more than they would alone..

Benefits?
There are endless possibilities. Each client has different issues with different perspectives; however, here is a short list of some areas a client and coach work on.
Dealing with a major life changes (relationship, career, relocation, retirement). Making key decisions around boundaries, tolerations and standards. Uncovering and understanding strengths and weaknesses. Confidence and self esteem building

Coaching and Personal Development is delivered during regular meetings. Sessions are delivered in relaxed and confidential surroundings or if preferred can be in the privacy of your own home by email or over the phone. Whilst each session is client led and taken at their pace, the process is structured to moving forward. Clients existing belief and thought patterns are challenged and ideas explored. When appropriate, clients carry out agreed actions and tasks between meetings.
