Reflexology

What is Reflexology Massage?

Reflexology massage is an ancient system of healing, based on the principle that different reflex or pressure points on the feet and hands correspond to our body’s organs, glands and systems. There are over 7000 nerve endings in each foot which connect to other parts of the body.

Through massage light pressure is applied to the reflex points which stimulate the body’s own healing process, bring about a state of deep relaxation and restore and maintain good health.

How reflexology can help

Illness, stress and disease create an imbalance in the body preventing it from functioning optimally. Reflexology can help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium and encourage healing.
Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe, however experience has shown reflexology may be helpful for:
  • Stress
  • Back pain
  • Headaches
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Sleep disorders
  • Digestive disorders
  • Asthma & hayfever
  • Fertility issues
  • Pregnancy

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue is a form of massage that focuses on releasing restrictions in the deeper layers of the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. Gradual, slow and deep massage pressure and techniques are used to release chronic muscle tension and to allow free flow of nutrients, oxygen and blood to the area.

Deep tissue is aimed at everyone. Most people have occupations which involve repetitive postures which lead to deeper pain and tension e.g desk workers. In addition those who engage in regular sport or physical activity accumulate lactic acid in muscles leading to stiffness and pain.

Deep Tissue Massage can help:
  • Individuals who perform repetitive work causing strain on muscles and joints
  • Athletes or occasional sports enthusiasts
  • Individuals with chronic muscle injuries
  • Individuals who suffer from stress
