About Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional therapy is more than dietetics -- it is using the food that you eat to give the body the tools it needs to do what it wants to do -- which is to be healthy. Disease does not strike out of the blue, it always has a cause, be it genetic, environmental, emotional, or an inadequate supply of the building blocks of life. Some things you can't change, others you can change with relative ease, and nutrition is one of those. If you get everything else right, but your body has an inadequate supply of even one essential nutrient, you will not see true health. But with the welter of conflicting information coming from so many sources, how do you know what is going to work for you?
There is no such thing as a perfect diet. We are built differently, and require different kinds of diets to stay healthy. What proportion of fats, proteins and carbs will keep your metabolic fires burning most efficiently? I will provide you with the answers you need, and will undertake a fairly extensive metabolic analysis to figure out what you are lacking, what toxins or pathogens may be affecting you, how effectively your digestive tract is doing it's job, how balanced your hormones and neurotransmitters are, and how to intervene to correct your problems using diet and supplements. From my long experience, when we get all this right it is quite astonishing what the body can do to heal even so-called incurable diseases.
I have had experience treating everything from Multiple Sclerosis to Autism, from Arthritis to Asthma. I have treated tiny babies, and currently my oldest patient is 93. I don't actually treat disease, I help your body to build health, and let it get on with repairing the systems that have gone wrong.
The clinic provides personal consultations plus an extensive nutritional and homoeopathic pharmacy.
Initial Consultation: up to an hour and a half long, £45
Subsequent consultations, up to an hour, £30. These are usually at least six weeks apart, often longer, as the nutritional changes need time to work. Sometimes one consultation is all that is needed, occasionally I see people on a long term basis to maintain their health.
The clinic is within two miles of the M20 motorway, and there is plenty of free parking close by. It is only a 15 minute walk, or 5 minute taxi ride from Ashford International Station.
I have been working in this field for nearly 30 years, and formalized with a Diploma from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in 1991. However in this field you can never stand still, learning never stops. I am a member of the British Association for Nutritional Therapy.
