Welcome to Ocean Therapy

Samantha is keen to promote the message that ‘sports massage’ is not solely for the sporting individual but for anyone suffering muscle or joint pain, whether it be the result of over-enthusiastic gardening long commuter journeys, or just kicking a ball around with the kids. Maybe you've been suffering with a niggling pain for years and can't even remember how it started?

Are you a keen sportsperson requiring regular maintenance sessions, to aid recovery, reduce your chance of injury ,enhance your performance and have the edge over your competitors? ...A soft tissue treatment might be just the remedy you're looking for.

How can i best explain what soft tissue therapy is?

Soft tissue therapy can be defined as the ‘management, manipulation, and rehabilitation of the body's soft tissues' e.g our muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia. It is a very specialised skill and Samantha uses her excellent palpation skills to identify potential injury sites or areas for specific attention. She is then able to tailor a specific treatment plan, unique to each individual combining other evidence based techniques.

Soft tissue abnormalities may be caused by an array of factors, including faulty posture, adverse biomechanics, repetitive strain, sporting trauma, fatigue, or simply every day movement patterns at home, in the office, on the sports field, or in the pool. The best news is that absolutely anyone can receive a treatment (providing there are no contraindications which would make treatment detrimental to their well being) - young, old, able-bodied, disabled, fit or frail.

How will a Soft Tissue Treatment benefit me?

It will:
  • Stimulate circulation (deep and superficial);
  • Improve your flexibility and range of movement;
  • Increase or decrease muscle tone, depending on your needs;
  • Assist in the removal of metabolic waste;
  • Remodel scar tissue;
  • Help to reduce pain;
  • Assist in mental and physical preparation for any sporting event;
  • Generally have a positive effect on your well being.

Samantha has a keen interest in working with those with disabilities.She has 9 years experience working with individuals who are paraplegic, amputees,and those with cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. This includes competitors at international level disability sport. She feels this experience and specialist care is something not normally offered.

Ocean Therapy is situated on the first floor at Lynch Lane Offices, providing easy wheelchair access. There is free car parking on site and a spacious treatment room with a hydraulic couch and en suite toilet facilities.

Please feel free to call Samantha for a no obligation chat and to discuss your treatment needs.

You will find that Samantha works to a high code of conduct affiliated by the sports massage association, the
Federation Of Holistic Therapists and the Complimentary and Natural healthcare council (CNHC), which insist on regular continuing professional development to keep up to date with the latest improvements in her field of work.You can be assured you will receive the highest level of care and ongoing support through your treatment programme with attention to detail being second to none.
