Testimonials

By putting aside an hour a month...(or fortnight...or week) to have a beneficial treatment such as aromatherapy or massage, you can help restore the natural balance of the body, aid relaxation, improve your mood, relieve tension, anxiety and stress and attain a general sense of well-being.

I am a fully qualified and fully insured professional therapist. I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and am registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council and undertake regular professional development training.

I work from my treatment room in Walmer offering a range of treatments to suit individual clients in a relaxed, friendly and comfortable environment. I am able to offer a mobile service for clients in their own home if necessary. My holistic approach takes into account lifestyle and the emotional well-being of clients which may be factors affecting physical well-being.

A completely confidential consultation is undertaken before each treatment to establish your needs and ensure you receive the best treatment. This is reviewed each time you visit to ensure your needs continue to be met.

I recognise that busy working lives and commitments can make it difficult for us to find time for ourselves and will be flexible with appointment times to try to accommodate you.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage involves the application of essential oils of aromatic plants which are absorbed through the skin and by inhalation. Aromatherapy is an ancient practice using natural oils extracted from flowers, leaves, fruits, bark, resins and roots of plants.

It can help to promote relaxation and general wellbeing, both physical and emotional.

The treatment can be uplifting or relaxing depending on your needs. Each oil has a different effect on the body. Aromatherapy massage is a versatile treatment with the blend made specifically to suit you once we have discussed your needs and expectations.

Body Massage

An extremely effective treatment which can aid relaxation, improve mood, aid sleep, relieve tension, anxiety and stress and promote a general sense of well-being.

I offer a wide selection of treatments. If you require a variation on any of the treatments or have a particular area which requires more attention then we can discuss and agree adaptations.

Soft Tissue Release (STR) & Muscle Energy Technique (MET)

STR is a deep tissue technique used to encourage tight fibres to stretch. Muscle Energy Technique is a gentle and highly effective method of stretching muscles. I incorporate these in the massage treatments as appropriate and after discussion with the client.

Deep Tissue Massage

Slow and deep pressure is applied to work more deeply into tissues - the skin, muscles and their supportive fascia. The two main methods of application are to compress and/or to stretch tissues using elbows, fists and forearms.

Deep tissue massage is used either as a stand alone treatment or to access specific areas more deeply as part of a body massage. The techniques can be used either to achieve a particular treatment outcome or for those clients who prefer a firmer massage.

Treatments are adapted to suit individual client needs in order to focus deep tissue work as required. This will be discussed during the consultation.

Thai Herbal Compress Massage

This treatment combines traditional Thai remedies with modern techniques. The treatment uses deep massage with steam heated compresses full of natural ingredients, each with their own properties, wrapped in a muslin ball and finishes with delicate, fragrant blends of essential oils.

This is a powerful treatment which rejuvenates and stimulates your body and mind. It promotes a general sense of well-being and relaxation.

Stone Therapy Massage

Stone therapy is an exceptionally relaxing treatment, rooted in ancient therapy practices and used to create balance within the body. Hot basalt and cold marble stones are used with the positioning and temperature of the stones tailored to the individual.

A stone therapy treatment provides a deep massage to the whole body as well as concentrated areas. The body is warmed with Swedish massage strokes and then oiled stones are applied. Stones are placed on the body, delivering heat to concentrated areas and other areas of the body are massaged with more heated stones.

Cold stones are also useful for muscle injuries as they have a soothing effect or for local congestion such as the sinuses.

As with all treatments, a full consultation is completed to ensure that stone therapy is right for you.
