Jean trained in nursing at the Middlesex Hospital in London and continued with her nursing career for seven years. She married a General Practitioner and raised her family while helping her husband in his practice. Jean decided to have a career change in order to experience life outside the medical world.

After nearly 20 years owning and managing, retail and manufacturing businesses where she gained much insight into the stresses and strains of the commercial world, Jean wanted to return to the caring professions.

She studied with the National School of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, and the British Hypnosis Research. She trained in Reiki with The Radiance Technique Association of America and Reiki College International of Australia.

Ongoing annual training has continued, including training with Dr. Keith Hearne at The College of Past Life Regression Studies, with the Association of Meridian Studies, Deep Memory Process with Roger Woolger at Woolger Training International and with Pippa Merrivale at Metatronic Life.

Practicing since 1994, she works to a strict code of ethics and confidentiality as required by the Associations and Guild of whom she is a member.

Jean is a Member of the British Institute of Hypnotherapy and the Association of Meridian Therapies. She is an approved Member of the NHS Directory of Alternative and Compementary Therapists and some private health insurance companies.

Getting Well Again

Your body is a walking, talking miracle and has all that is necessary within it to heal itself. There is no disease or mental/emotional state known or unknown to man, that it cannot cure. There is no such thing as perfect health, as the day to day business of living throws us constantly in and out of balance. However given the right conditions, the body will automatically make the necessary adjustments.

So how do we set about achieving this Utopian state? We are holistic beings, that is, we operate on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual plane, and when all of these are addressed and brought into balance and harmony, this miracle can indeed take place. Unless all four of these parts of us are taken into consideration this cannot happen.

Even if we can only take the first step and go some of the way down this road, we have made a tremendous leap forward to a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life. As it is said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, and that first step is the intent that this is what YOU want to happen. Without this the journey cannot begin.

In the physical, your body is a highly complex system of chemical reactions, which rely on the right nutrients being taken into the body with wholesome food, and because of the poor soil conditions today, food supplements. These same chemicals are also affected by our Thoughts, Emotions, Attitudes and Stresses (TEAS). Negative TEAS produce negative chemicals; positive TEAS produce positive chemicals. If your biochemistry becomes out of balance all the systems in your body come under strain and the result can be illness and disease.

Your body is a barometer of what is happening at an inner level.

Equally, if you neglect the spiritual side of your life (such as, the need for love, rest, peace, recreation, enjoyment, kindness, acknowledgement of your self; recognition that life is not just about materialistic values) the physical, mental and emotional parts of you are adversely affected.

The therapies that I practice help to bring balance to your thoughts, emotions, attitudes and stresses. They help you recognize your needs and wants, and how to achieve this, as well as alleviating your symptoms. Together, we will search for the underlying causes of your dis-ease and discomfort.

Every treatment is tailored for each client according to his or her needs. I combine my various skills, depending on what is required, to bring you back to a state of balance and positive wellness.

WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is used to uncover the deep causes of emotional, mental and physical problems, as well as alleviating symptoms, which can lead to a permanent resolution.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, during which your subconscious mind, which controls all your automatic body processes and reactions, becomes susceptible to suggestion. You do not become unconscious, but will be in a relaxed state of wakefulness. You are completely in control and aware of everything that is happening around you. No one can be hypnotized against his or her will. You will be guided to take yourself into a profound state of relaxation, and anyone can do this. It is a natural state into which we go each day, just before sleep and on waking, just before we come fully into awareness of our surroundings: also when we are "day dreaming."

The success rate of hypnosis combined with the other therapies that I use, is very good, with over 85% of problems being resolved. Do not feel that any problem is too silly, small or difficult to solve. Some people require only a few sessions, while others need a longer course of therapy.

These are a few of the problems that may be helped by hypnotherapy and psychotherapy:
  • Post traumatic stress
  • Depression & anxiety
  • Lack of confidence
  • Work related stress
  • Lack of self worth
  • Physical and mental abuse
  • Childhood traumas
  • Emotional pain
  • Public speaking anxiety
  • Bed wetting
  • Panic attacks
  • Grief
  • Guilt
  • Inferiority
  • Dental fears
  • Anger & irritability
  • Phobias and fears
  • Underachievement
  • Smoking
  • A controlling habit
  • Bereavement
  • Rejection and betrayal
  • Abandonment
  • Etc etc

The list is almost endless. I offer an initial short, free consultation to discuss your needs, as it is important to feel at ease and comfortable with your therapist, particularly with hypnotherapy, as the value of the treatment is greatly enhanced when you have confidence in the practitioner.
