SERVICES

Wendy has spent some years living and working in Asia, where she became more interested in the relationship between the mind and body. Hypnosis had been something that had interested her since the 1970s and so she decided to train as a Hypnotherapist on her return to the UK. Reiki, or energy healing was also something she was drawn towards, and she has trained under Master Teacher Michael Kauffman and incorporates Reiki often, as part of the therapy. As a seasoned Samaritan Wendy is aware of the huge impact on our lives feelings and pain can make, and that it is often difficult to share this with others. Wendy offers a safe, confidential and non judgemental place for you to be able to leave these behind you and to move on in your life.

About Wendy

Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking a look at my profile. I live in Wolverton, Milton Keynes and at this time I offer a service from home, I do this from choice as I feel people are,in general, more relaxed in a home setting, rather than a consulting room, this none the less does not make me less able to help you. I will also home visit, this can be especially helpful for people who are in severe pain or have conditions which mean they are unable, at this time, to leave home. Pain management and relief is one of the areas I choose to specialise in, as having control over your pain can be so empowering, I love being able to show people how they can achieve this.

I became aware of Hypnotherapy back in the 1970s, and was very interested in it, but at the time I was so busy I really couldn't make the time to pursue it. As the children grew we travelled and lived abroad, mainly in Europe and once they left home I lived in India for 5 years and Sri Lanka for 2 years, before coming back to the UK and eventually settling in Wolverton, Bucks. I decided then that I could make the time and would make the time to pursue not only Hypnotherapy but other things too, which include Tai Chi, Reiki and all sorts of other things, my children call me a Hippy and its probably true.

I'm a Samaritan, a Listener, so I really do understand how difficult it can be to reach out to someone for help. As a Sam I've heard it all, I will not be shocked or offended by anything you share with me, and as with the Samaritans everything you say to me is confidential. I'm also a Trustee of our branch, a Day Leader ( other Sams off load to me after their shift), a Mentor, I am mentoring a new Sam right now, and part of Caller Care. I am also involved in ongoing training for all places of education and will be part of the postvention team later this year. Postvention is important to me, its supporting both staff and pupils/ students after someone has died or when someone has tried to take their own life but have been unsuccessful, and it has then become common knowledge.

Grief is important, although we dont always recognise it it is the most natural and most important way of dealing with our emotions. If you are grieving or feel you should be but you dont feel you are, then call me on 07581260507 and make an appointment, you dont need to do this on your own. The same applies to young people, they grieve, its especially traumatic at the loss of a loved one, but for teenagers it can mean so many other losses, just like ourselves, only as adults many of those losses are viewed differently. Many people grieve when a much loved pet passes, I know I have, and people don't always understand, but I do.

I've worked with children nearly all my life, firstly in Child Psychology, though finished a lifetime ago, then teaching both here and in Asia. Our children are our future and we invest so much of ourselves in them. Sometimes we need to stand back and take a hard look and see that they need help that we ourselves, alone can not give them. I understand how slow moving and frustrating it can be, waiting for help through the National Health System. I truly believe that Hypnotherapy is a way of achieving that help. Do you know that we can do " content free " if appropriate ? So its not always a conversational or talking therapy. Please dont wait or put things off, the sooner you contact me, the better, the longer you leave things the longer your child will live with what they are experiencing.

I'm also a Community and Civil Mediator, we are now, in Milton Keynes, part of the Citizens Advice Bureau. I am the real person who gets sent in to deal with the "Neighbours from Hell". I love doing it, bringing people together, to work out ways forward. As a civil mediator I might be working with someone in dispute at their place of work or maybe a patient and hospital. Its all very interesting.

You may be wondering about Quitting Smoking, and looking at the fee, let me tell you a true story, about me. As I said earlier, I became interested in Hypnotherapy back in the 1970s, but had very little to do with it until the 1990s. I was a very heavy smoker, I bought 3 packs a day, at todays prices about £25 a day. I justified it for 2 reasons, the first was a very high pressured job that was full on 24/7, so smoking was my way of coping and it was alright really because I only smoked the first third, so it was really only like smoking 1 pack a day and secondly, I liked it and had smoked since being a teenager, the 1960s, back then it was seen as "cool". So, in the 90s a friend had a baby and a mummy tummy ,her husband suggested hypnotherapy. I went with her, basically to show her how to find the place, no sat navs back then. Once inside, with my friend in with the therapist I told the receptionist that I was going outside for a cigarette. When I came back in she suggested I speak to the therapist after about smoking, and I have to admit I was really curious, 3 sessions later I became a non smoker, not an ex smoker a non smoker, it was as if I had never ever smoked in my whole life, which is a very different thing from being an ex smoker, think about that for a while. Also, Im qualified in exactly the same way as people who work with smoking in the NHS, so I know all about the different methods that are used. When you reach the point that you no longer want to smoke, thats you and not your other half, kids, boss, doctor, then call me on 07581260507 and we can work together in 1 session not 3.

Like most hypnotherapists I work with a wide range of issues, however, I specialise in certain areas and have taken extra training in them. Please take a look at Other Areas, you will find what I specialise in there.

As a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society I abide by their rules and code of ethics. I have supervision from Louise Baker, Marlow Hypnotherapy.
