thai yoga massage

This unique and powerful form of massage therapy is stimulating, balancing, healing and relaxing. Thai yoga massage combines the use of applied stretches with pressure work along energy channels of the body. Sensitive and effective yoga-style stretches lengthen and relax the limbs, spine and neck, and increase joint mobility. Pressure is applied with thumbs, palms and feet along the sip sen, the ten energy channels, to dissolve tensions and release blockages. Energy is encouraged to flow freely, nourishing the body and yielding deep therapeutic benefits. The session gives the receiver a feeling of deep relaxation and tranquillity that is invaluable for today’s stressful lifestyles.

back pain treatment
- with thai yoga massage and yoga therapy

Thai yoga massage and therapeutic yoga can be combined as valuable tools in managing and treating back pain. A typical session will last two hours and be made up of three parts:

assessment
to identify the areas of concern and devise a treatment programme suitable for the individual.

yoga therapy
yoga practices suitable for the condition of the back are introduced and details are given so they can be practiced regularly at home. These usually include gentle stretches to release tension, gentle mobilisation to improve the range of movement and encourage good blood circulation in muscles, and exercises to strengthen muscles to support the back and improve posture.

thai yoga massage
relaxes the affected muscles and calms the whole nervous system reducing pain. It reduce spasms, mobilises the joints and improves circulation allowing the body’s natural healing processes to activate. In Thai yoga massage, as well as working on the affected area, associated areas and energy lines are worked, for example stomach massage helps relieve abdominal tension that contributes to lumbar pain, and energy lines on the legs relate to back issues. This holistic approach makes the massage a gentle treatment suitable in situations of discomfort. The massage can be carried out while you are lying on your side if lying on your back or front is uncomfortable, however you need to be mobile enough to get down and up from a mat on the floor.

hatha yoga one-to-one

One-to-one Hatha yoga sessions are offered in your home for a personalised experience of yoga.

who can practice yoga?
Yoga is for everyone - not just for the super bendy! In fact feeling stiff, achy and inflexible is a good reason to start practicing yoga! If you are thinking of returning to exercise, a gentle yoga practice can help you to get moving again and can be gradually increased in intensity as your fitness and flexibility improves. If you are reasonably fit, you will enjoy pushing your body with a new holistic approach to exercise, and if you are training in other sports, yoga can relieve stiffness, build strength and enhance your performance.

Yoga one-to-one is suitable for a wide range of ages, levels of fitness and for absolute beginners or those with some experience of yoga.

Individual yoga sessions offer a wonderful opportunity to practice yoga at the level most appropriate to you. It also provides the nurture of personal attention focused on your unique needs. One to one yoga sessions are the more holistic approach to personal training.
