ABOUT US

My name is Lea Miller and I’m the Clinical Director of Bayee Holistic Therapy. I have been practicing holistic therapies for over 21years and I have formal qualifications in all the therapies I offer. I always aim to guide you to what I believe to be the correct therapy for you, even if it isn’t a therapy I provide.

Whilst the client/therapist relationship is of paramount importance, the client must have complete confidence in the knowledge, qualifications and skills of the therapist before beginning a programme of treatment.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) was developed in the 1970s by John Upledger. CST is a gentle and non-invasive therapy that involves your therapist listening or feeling the natural rhythms of your body, by placing their hands, very lightly on you or under you. Because it is totally non-invasive, it is a therapy that is suitable for everyone, including newborn babies. It is a common misconception that the ‘cranio’ part of the therapy’s title means that it is a therapy purely for the head or cranium. This is not the case. The ‘cranio’ refers to the top of the spine and the ‘sacral’ refers to the lower end of the spine or sacrum. Once you are aware of this fact, it becomes clear that CST can be applied to all parts of the body, in fact CST works with the whole person; body, mind and spirit.

CST may be used for acute physical problems such as aches and pains throughout the body, or for emotional problems, such as stress.

What happens during and after a typical CST session?

A typical session lasts between 60 and 75 minutes for adults and 45 minutes for children, and during your first session, we will have an in-depth discussion of your case history.

The receiver of the treatment will lie on their back, fully clothed on a treatment couch. If some reason this is not comfortable, sitting or lying on your side can be accommodated.

I may start at your feet or your head and using various evaluative techniques i will use the information gained to figure out where your body needs me to start.

Receiving CranioSacral Therapy tends to be very relaxing and positively pleasurable . Ignored or hidden problems are resolved as often as those for which help was initially sought.

Thermo Auricular Therapy

Thermo Auricular Therapy, also known as ear candling has roots in several ancient cultures. Modern day’s use of ear candles is normally attributed to the Hopi Indians, although ear candles are thought to have been used throughout Asia and Siberia too.

What happens during and after a typical Thermo Auricular Therapy session?

A typical session will last approximately 60 minutes. During an ear candling session, you will be asked to lie on your side, whilst a lit ear candle is gently placed in your uppermost ear. The ear candle is hollow, but within its make-up if contained sage, chamomile, St, John’s Wart, beeswax and honey so as it burns down, the aromas and gentle sensations are experienced.

After the session, people describe their nasal passages feeling clearer and having an improved sense of smell.

We only use Biosun hand made ear candles. Biosun candles are made from 100% natural ingredients such as cotton, beeswax, honey extracts and Indian herbs such as sage, St. John’s wort and chamomile.

Reflexology

Modern day reflexology is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health for their clients.

Like most holistic therapies, reflexology is non-invasive and therefore can be used to treat anyone, at any age including newborn babies.

What happens during and after a typical Reflexology session?

A typical session lasts 60 minutes and during your first session, we will have an in-depth discussion of your case history.

I will then massage your hands or feet using a very gentle pressure. Generally, the treatment should feel relaxing, although it maybe slightly uncomfortable as certain parts of your hands or feet corresponding to other areas of your body where you have discomfort are massaged. This discomfort is only very short lived though, and don’t worry if you have ticklish feet, Reflexologists are used to this!

After your treatment most people remark on a feeling of general well-being and relaxation.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is an ancient healing art using certain therapeutic oils massaged into the body.

Aromatherapy can help relax, revitalise, uplift or aid the body and spirit depending on which essential oil is used. It is a natural aid, working holistically through mind, body and spirit in maintaining the body’s well-being and sense of balance.

Aromatherapy has been used for a wide range of illness, such as: Arthritic and Skeletal problems, Aches and Pains, Skin complaints such as Eczema, PMT, Period Pains, Digestive problems, Depression, Stress, Anxiety, Migraine and Headaches.

Aromatherapy is virtually free from side effects, feeling thirsty or experiencing more visits to the toilet is the body’s and nature’s way of releasing toxins within the body. Drinking plenty of water after a treatment helps. Aromatherapy is suitable for all ages. If you are pregnant, suffer with epilepsy or high blood pressure you should consult only a qualified therapist.
