Chiropractic is the largest natural healthcare discipline in the U.K. It is a regulated profession that provides effective and safe care for musculoskeletal conditions with particular focus on the spine and nervous system.

About Chiropractic

Chiropractic takes a holisitic approach to identifying the root cause of a condition. Taking a full case history, physical assessment, reviewing your medical history and lifestyle background allows your chiropractor to form a working diagnosis, give you a full explanation and suggest an appropriate treatment plan. If chiropractic treatment is not considered suitable, you will be referred to your G.P or suitable specialist.

Chiropractic can benefit all members of the family from babies to grandparents. Tara has a particular interest in the care and treatment of pregnant mums, babies and young children and is working towards completing post-graduate masters in chiropractic paediatrics.

Treatment

Chiropractors use a variety of different techniques to deliver safe and effective treatment. This hands-on treatment is known as a chiropractic adjustment. It usually involves a gentle, quick impulse to a joint. This adjustment aims to restore normal joint movement, rebalance nerve function, alleviate pain and relieve muscle spasm.

Including adjustments, treatment can also include soft tissue massage, stretching, medical acupuncture (dry needling), postural advice, exercise prescription, nutritional and lifestyle guidance. Treatments are highly individual and the techniques used are according to the specific condition and patient’s needs.
How much treatment will I need?

There is no “one size fits all” to the amount of treatment required and the length of time of your recovery. It is dependant on many factors some of which include the length of time you have had the problem, medical history and aspects of your lifestyle.

Your expectations and needs and my recommendations are both equally as important. Once a condition has settled, it is important to keep up with the self help advice given. Dependant on the individual case it may be recommended to have periodic check up appointments to further manage the condition. I strongly believe in preventative health measures and encouraging self –help and awareness for patients.
