SERVICES
My name is Richard Scott Dip.Hyp, Adv.Dip.CH/Psy and I am a fully qualified and insured clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist. I am also registered with the NHS, plus the ICHM and PHPA (professional UK complementary therapy/hypnotherapy bodies).
I am both a clinic-based and a mobile practitioner, which means that I regularly conduct patient sessions in Hull and Scunthorpe as well as Leeds, York, Sheffield, Lincoln and surrounds. I also cater for staff/students
at the University of Hull - as my Hull office is based on campus.
I provide hypnotherapy services for the Step Easy Clinic in Hull and the Foundation for Wellbeing charity in Scunthorpe.
I specialise in stress, anxiety, weight and pain management, releasing
fears and phobias plus addictions (e.g. cigarette and habitual drugs).
I have a proven track record in facilitating the release of a variety of psychosomatic issues.

ABOUT HYPNOSIS
We've all been hypnotised at one time or another.
Picture the scene...
You're sitting at home watching the TV and someone beside you is talking,
but your mind is so focussed on the TV, you don't hear a word they've said.
That's focussed attention and that's what hypnosis is all about.
How about when you're driving your car... it's a familiar route you've been along many times before. When you arrive at your destination, you realise
that the journey has flown past without much thought to the actual driving.
Can you remember how intently you concentrated when you first drove?
A classic case of hypnosis.
Hypnosis is a guided visualisation. You are relaxed to the point that the therapist can communicate with your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious mind takes over for most of your day. This part of you believes it knows what's best for you and does everything it can to make you feel safe and secure. It has been taught all it knows by you and this knowledge has been reinforced by you via the way you behave.
A typical example is when your parents may have encouraged you to 'eat up' and 'make sure you eat everything on your plate'. They then rewarded you when your plate was empty. Later on in life, adults have problems with their over-indulgence of food because their subconscious minds believe that 'everything has to disappear off that plate'.
This is where Grey Matterz steps in.
Grey Matterz can retrain your subconscious mind to accept and learn new behaviours which are then reinforced and become the norm. These CDs are recordings which consist of full hypnotherapy sessions i.e. an induction to introduce you to relaxation, a deepener which will take you further and deeper into relaxation, followed by the therapeutic intervention of suggestions and ending with the formal release from hypnosis.
On each digitally recorded hypnosis CD or MP3, you will be guided into a deeply relaxed state of mind and body. Powerfully layered affirmations and post hypnotic suggestions have been used to create a calming and transforming response.
This skilful method of delivering multiple hypnotic suggestions simultaneously to the unconscious mind, along with inventive and therapeutic production facilitates positive changes quickly and easily. Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Advanced Diplomas in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy from the School of Natural Health Sciences in London.
As a member of the Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioner Association and the International College of Holistic Medicine, I am bound by a strict code of ethics. I am recently registered with the NHS Trust Association, and am listed in the NHS Directory for Complementary and Alternative Practitioners.
