I am an holistic complementary practitioner with extensive experience in health care and fully trained to provide massage therapy for relaxation, treatment or rehabilitation.
Massage is effective in the relief of acute and chronic conditions affecting joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, which result in debilitating pain and discomfort.
Various techniques are employed to reduce tension in the structures which can cause nerve irritation /compression and pain, and release the effects of scar tissue and poor healing after injury or surgery.
Massage re-introduces the benefits and soothing comfort of healing touch. Helpful for anyone who wishes to remain healthy and active and maintain independence.
Working from my calming and relaxing treatment room I provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment and conduct individualised assessments, tailoring treatments according to your particular complaint.
Your privacy and confidentiality are respected at all times with careful attention to modesty and towel draping.
There are certain contraindications to receiving massage, some temporary and time defined, others are absolute. If at any time I believed that I could not help you I would honestly and sensitively explain why not.
Appointments are usually for 1 hour.
Qualifications
Registerd General Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), BSc (Hons),
Initially trained in Swedish Massage (ITEC Diploma)
Subsequently I have undertaken further training in :-
Advanced Massage Techniques
Myofascial work
Muscle Energy Techniques
Medical Massage
and am currently working towards Certification in Medical Massage.
