Welcome to City Yoga

All Yoga works in some degree on all aspects of mind and body, but some are more suitable for certain requirements, whether you wish to build strength, stamina, flexibility, calm mind etc City Yoga will have a class that will help you achieve those goals.
The practice of these powerful forms of yoga strengthens and purifies the body. Focused breathing techniques calm the mind and soothes the nervous system, leaving you with a deep meditative calm.

Practice will develop awareness of the body's habitual holding patterns. Over time Yoga helps you find ways to undo less than perfect posture. With a balanced practice, weak areas of the body grow stronger and tight areas become more flexible.

General vitality and energy levels will improve, and, as the body unwinds you learn to identify areas of tightness, with increased flexibility and awareness you are able to relax these areas more easily.Yoga is one of the greatest self improvement methods. However, it is not an easy undertaking. The results you achieve will be equal to the discipline and effort you take to follow the methods advised.


David Swenson, an advanced practitioner, gives a demonstration of strength and grace.



ASHTANGA YOGA

A unique combination of dynamic breathing and strong, flowing movement, which creates a high heat, high energy workout. Ashtanga Yoga is a choreographed sequence of postures which flow into one another, building strength, unwinding tight joints, and loosening muscles. Ashtanga yoga is a complete mind and body workout that develops concentration and reduces stress.

For those who have either completed the 6 week beginner’s course (see below) and/or has experience of attending Yoga classes on a regular basis.

SELF PRACTICE SESSION
This session is suitable for students who have attended beginners/improvers classes, and for those who have had experience practicing in a Mysore-style class. Practice sheets are supplied for reference. Self-practice is a supervised class where one-to-one tuition and adjustments are given by an experienced teacher.

Students practice at their own pace and the teacher focuses on specific needs within the practice. This allows individuals to progress and develop at their own pace.

If you are new to Yoga - this course will introduce you to the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga. It will build stamina, flexibility, awareness of movement and breath sychronisation which is the key feature of this powerful form of yoga.

There is a limit on numbers for this course, if you interested in joining this course
Numbers are limited -please book before attending.

Please be aware that you will need to have a good basic level of fitness and be prepared to commit to short home practice sessions.

The cost of this 8 week course is £60.

A £10 non refundable deposit will secure your place on the list. This will be deducted from the cost of the course.

The great benefit of learning Ashtanga on a One to One basis is that you learn at your own pace. Everyone is different, so a program can be designed to focus Bonn whichever areas that you choose, i.e. strength, flexibility, stamina, a calmer mind etc. Eventual you will find balance in all these fundamental areas of health and reach your goal of living be healthy and strong in body and mind..

Find the perfect yoga practice for you

In your initial session we will talk through your health and fitness goals. Taking into consideration your history and circumstances we will begin to create the ideal yoga practice for you. The suggested practice is then learnt on a one to one basis. From each session you will receive a programme to work on - the exercises are clearly illustrated and have simple instructions.The aim is to develop a practice that is enjoyable and that you will look forward to.

A life enhancing practice in 20 minutes a day

Having a regular practice of 20 minutes a day is more important than the occasional long yoga practice. The more commitment you have toward your practice the more powerful the results will be.

Your yoga practice will be designed to fit in with your personal circumstances, so that it enhances your day. In time your practice will alter as you progress step by step.

Some people meet for an hour a month; some once a week; a program can be worked out whatever your finances and commitments allow. At first, more frequent visits get you off to a good start. The average is to meet every three weeks.

    10 sessions to be used within 12 months. £295


The charges are for tuition and resources. Travel expenses and studio fees are additional. Clients are usually taught in their home so a suitable space for practice is required.
