Naturopathy

Therapist: Sybille Gebhardt

Naturopathy is a complete system of natural healthcare which focuses on the root cause of a health complaint through equal consideration of the emotional, structural and biochemical factors affecting an individual. Naturopaths work to address the underlying cause of illness rather than simply masking the symptoms.

Structural Therapies

Physiotherapy

Therapist: Mike Aunger

The basic aim of physiotherapy is to alleviate pain and restore normal movement, helping the body to return to its natural state. Physiotherapists are trained to assess and treat the underlying causes of joint, muscle and nerve disorders. They also teach patients how to manage their condition, and advise on injury and pain prevention. Treatment will often involve a combination of therapy techniques including massage, mobilisation, manipulation, electrotherapy and remedial exercise therapy

Osteopathy

Therapist: Damien Harcourt BSc(Hons) Ost

Osteopathy focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Using a combination of osteopathic and conventional diagnostic techniques, treatment is based on mobilising and manipulative procedures tailored to the individual patient, reinforced by guidance on diet, lifestyle and exercise. This approach emphasises the integration of the musculoskeletal system with other body systems, and the influence that impaired function of each has on the other. It also seeks to empower patients in assisting their recovery to good health.

Chiropractic

Therapist: Shelagh Taggart

Chiropractic is concerned with diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and their effects on the function of the nervous system and general health. Massage Therapies

Swedish

Swedish and holistic massage at Embody in Vauxhall incorporates a variety of massage techniques designed to relieve general aches and pains and gently melt away tension. Our therapists work intuitively and holistically to help restore natural balance, improve oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. The reduction of physical and emotional stress enhances overall health and wellbeing and promotes better sleep patterns.

Deep Tissue /Sports Massage

This massage technique focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It’s used to release chronic muscle tension through slow strokes, direct pressure and friction. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue within the muscles.

The therapist generally concentrates on specific areas of the body, working to rid sore and strained muscles of toxins by improving the circulation of blood and oxygen. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep tissue massage to help flush these toxins from the body.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy massage is a therapy specifically tailored for the expectant mother. It can reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. It's a great solution for back pain when choices for pain relief such as medication are often limited.
