Infertility Support Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Acupuncture
Infertility support
I offer a range of Fertility Support services including pregnancy planning, acupuncture, fertility assessment, assisted conception support, counselling and support if things go wrong.
My support begins with our initial contact, be that by phone or email. Sometimes a conversation is enough for a client to feel comfortable making their first appointment, others may prefer to have a free face to face consultation with me as a couple.
The optimum time to begin treatment is thought to be 3 months prior to conception, although I treat patients at all stages of their fertility journey.
During our first meeting I will give you a questionnaire, to be filled out by both you and your partner, this will furnish me with a lot of your fertility history, plus life style factors, sleep nutrition etc – all areas that I can work on to promote optimum fertility.
I will be able to help you access the best way forward on your fertility journey, sign posting when necessary or looking at ways to make sure that your cycles are regular and that ovulation is occurring.
I can offer AMH blood testing and a fertility MOT (consisting of a consultation and blood test) – results are within 4 days and I can then help find a way forward with appropriate treatment.
Acupuncture and Fertility
Acupuncture plays a vital role in treatment and may be used to enhance fertility, natural conception and assisted conception. This may also help with PCOS and Endometriosis.
Acupuncture treatment also works along side the IVF/ICSI protocol and clients are always accommodated no matter how last minute their appointments may be. The treatment may consist of Acupuncture Pre and Post embryo transfer on same day of embryo transfer; before the hospital visit and then after the embryo has been transferred. Also where appropriate to enhance fertility I offer Electro Acupuncture treatments prior to the IVF / ICSI, this entails a light pulse of electricity attached to the needles, enhancing treatment and stimulating Qi (energy).
Other fertility support services:
- Fertility Counselling and psychological support for when things become difficult, available as a couple or individually.
- Fertility nutrition advice.
- Hypnotherapy to help with stress
- Meditation and relaxation classes to help clients whilst going through fertility treatment.
Acupuncture and Pregnancy
My approach is a holistic service, working within the paradigm of Mind, body and spirit so I also offer a wide range of services for your pregnancy:
- Acupuncture once a month during pregnancy
- Acupuncture to help with morning sickness
- Acupuncture in preparation for labour, consisting of once a week treatment during the final month
- Encouraging a breech baby to turn (moxa treatment)
- Labour Induction
- Acupuncture
- Pregnancy Massage
- Hypno Birthing classes for couples
- Access to additional scanning in conjunction with the Fetal Imaging Centre, Leamington Spa.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been practiced in China and other Eastern countries for thousands of years. Acupuncture is used both to treat specific symptoms and illnesses and as a preventative treatment as it boosts the body’s immune system. Acupuncture is particularly useful for treatment of pain and may help with back pain, joint pains, muscular pains, migraine, and even period pains. It has also been used to treat problems such as sinusitis, hay fever, irritable bowel, and nausea. Acupuncture treatment may assist you in getting pregnant, whether you wish to conceive naturally or need to have fertility treatment.
My experience of Acupuncture began 25 years ago in California when I was suffering from severe abdominal pain due to pelvic surgery. I was treated by a Dr. Weiss, a doctor who had studied for many years in China. Dr. Weiss successfully treated my condition using a combination of Acupuncture and herbal medicine. On my return home to Chicago, the western Doctors were amazed at the results.
In 1997 I returned to live in England to discover one of the best Acupuncture Colleges in the World on my doorstep – ’The Traditional College Of Five Element Acupuncture’, founded by Professor J.R. Worsley – needless to say I was inspired. Since then I have gone onto achieve:

- Member of the British Acupuncture Council
- Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist
- Zita West Accredited Acupuncturist
