SPECIALISING IN CONSTIPATION & IBS

About Us

Kevin and Linda Booth are highly trained Practitioners and have, between them, over 40 years experience in conventional and complementary healthcare. They believe that no one system has the whole answer to every medical problem.

They are professional, conscientious and bring a multi-disciplined approach to healing. Good health is not just the absence of disease. It is about being physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually in balance. As Dr. George Scott Williamson said in 1943, "Health is as infectious as disease, given the right conditions for it to spread."

Kevin trained in Osteopathy and Physiotherapy and has undertaken Post-graduate work in Acupuncture, specialising in pain relief and musculo-skeletal dysfunction. Kevin is a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and is registered with The Health Professions Council.

Many years ago Linda had her own health issues connected to the immune system and embarked on her own personal journey to understand human nature and illness. This was a journey of self-discovery and these experiences she brings to her own practice.

She has Diplomas in Physical Therapy, Ultrasound, Electrotherapy and Acupuncture. She trained with Dr. Milo Siewert (the founder of Colon Hydrotherapy in the UK) and Roger Groos at The National School of Colon Hydrotherapy and particularly enjoys working with people who feel the need to look towards natural therapies for help in improving their health. Linda is registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council www.cnhc.org.uk and is an active member of The Association and Register of Colon Hydrotherapists www.colonic-association.org and sits on the Committee.

The Association and Register of Colon Hydrotherapists is working with the Department of Health and is comitted to the development of voluntary regulation and national standards of training and accreditation for naturopathic colonic hydrotherapy. All members of ARCH are required to practice within strict codes of professional conduct and must ensure adequate public liability insurance and regularly update their practice.

Colon Hydrotherapy

Cleansing your colon is the FIRST step to better health.

This is a universal law of nature. Any kind of weakness or disability is an invisible signal to every predator, from wolves to parasites, virus and bacteria, to move in and take advantage of the prey.

The UK is the most constipated nation on earth, with 1 in 3 people attending their GP with a digestive/bowel problem and 35,000 new cases of bowel cancer diagnosed each year. Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK, claiming 16,000 lives every year. A tragedy when the correct diet and lifestyle can reduce this figure by 2/3rds!

The ancient art of Colon Hydrotherapy or Colonic Irrigation is the gentle internal bathing of the large bowel, using warm, purified water. The procedure aims at removing stored faecal matter, mucous, gas and toxic substances from the bowel, including parasites and pathogenic bacteria. Toxins are commonly found in the bowel, but they can be found throughout the body, particularly in the joints, liver, kidneys, fatty tissue and muscles. Every tissue is fed by the blood, which is supplied by the intestinal system. When the intestines are dirty, the blood is dirty, and so are the organs and tissues. It is the intestinal system that has to be cared for before any effective healing can take place. (Dr. Bernard Jensen).

Physiotherapy

With more moving parts than any machine, it's not surprising your body occasionally cries out in pain or refuses to do what you tell it to do. Physiotherapy is an effective way to treat many of the problems you can experience.

Physiotherapists are trained to diagnose problems in joints and soft tissues of the body, (muscles, ligaments, tendons etc) and carry out a comprehensive assessment and clinical diagnosis. Physiotherapy predominantly utilises a physical approach, with the emphasis being a 'hands-on' approach, aimed at restoring and maintaining optimal mechanical function. A treatment plan will be drawn up for your particular problem and you will be given an indication of how many treatments will be required to achieve a positive result.

The techniques involved are suitable for most people, including children, pregnant women and elderly patients. The Physiotherapist is trained to screen for medical disorders outside his remit, and refer to the appropriate practitioner.

Physiotherapy provides a wide range of treatments to relieve pain, promote relaxation and restore function and movement. They include massage, joint mobilisation/manipulation, ultrasound, interferential therapy, TENS and acupuncture. Exercises may also be used to increase general fitness and strength.

Millions of people in England live with disorders of bones, joints and muscles. There are over 200 muscular skeletal conditions alone, including all forms of arthritis, back pain, neck pain, osteoporosis, and connective tissue diseases such as soft tissue rheumatism. These conditions can be treated and improved using Physiotherapy.
