Often anxiety and stress are caused by a focus on negative thoughts usually based on faulty thinking. Thoughts are not always facts sometimes they are just beliefs. Using Hypnosis combined with our other techniques improves thought processing in a fast and effective way helping to create changes in your general attitude towards yourself and your current life situation.

IBS Management

Medically, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is known by a variety of other terms: spastic colon, spastic colitis, mucous colitis and nervous or functional bowel. Weight Management Programme

The trouble with diets is that they require great determination and will power to succeed, not to mention all the watching everything you eat and calorie counting you have to do. There’s also quite a lot of sacrificing necessary when you are following a diet – the ‘don’t eat this or that’ only leads you to failure because no-one likes being deprived of something they really like – look what happens when you take a toy from a child – that’s the toy the child wants more than ever. It’s like that with food – if you are told you can’t have something then you’ll want it all the more.

So how does Hypnotherapy work for Weight Loss?

Did you know that we all have two minds? These are the conscious and the subconscious mind. The two minds naturally work together; the conscious mind learns things and then passes this information onto the sub conscious mind. When the subconscious mind has gained sufficient knowledge it accepts the task. This newly acquired knowledge results in automatic action without any thought or intervention from the conscious mind. For example if you are driving behind a vehicle and their stop lights come on, you don’t have to consciously think “I’ll pick my foot up, put it on the brake pedal and press my foot down”. It’s just an automatic response from your subconscious mind.

There was a time when our sub conscious mind knew what was good for us but over the years we sometimes get into bad habits – eating a chocolate bar, extra piece of cake or a biscuit, when you don’t really want or need it. Or that extra sandwich that no-one wants or clearing what the children have left on their plate after a meal.

Eventually your sub conscious mind will accept all these things as learned habits and will allow you to continue to do them. The way hypnosis works is to over-write the files – it means that we can change the way our sub conscious mind works by Hypnotherapy - in other words getting rid of the bad habits and replacing them with good habits.

Children's Issues

When children experience stress or are worried, whether they are conscious of it or not, there may often be warning signs for parents to notice such as schoolwork beginning to deteriorate. A child might start to be accident prone, have headaches or tummy aches. They might start to bite their nails or pull out their hair, they might even return to wetting or soiling the bed. Some children may develop eating disorders or the child might become more angry than normal; they might lie or steal, and experience trouble in sleeping. They might even turn to drugs or alcohol in an attempt to improve how they feel.

When a parent or guardian brings a child for a consultation I would encourage the parent to be there whilst we talk about the problem providing the child is comfortable with that. However, our focus will be on talking directly to the child rather than talking about them as can happen in sometime situations.

Hi Margaret , I have now lost 2 stone 1 pound!!! I feel really good and cannot praise you enough for helping me to do this.
I now I have 3 stone to go but I just know I will do it. I just have 3 meals a day and never even think about food in between meals. I never feel hungry [or deprived] What does amaze me is that since October I have not eaten or been tempted to eat a chocolate, sweets, biscuits, cakes, deserts, processed food of any kind. Well actually I do have 3 bags of crisps each week but this is not a diet after all!
I do not think I could eat anything sweet if you said I could now. It just does not feature in my thoughts any more.

Hi Margaret, thanks for your e-mail. I'm very well thanks, I'm still doing my visualizations their getting easier, I've found by picturing a set of scales with my desired weight on it makes my image a bit clearer if that makes sense. I'm also still saying my affirmations, I've made them part of my daily routine so I'll say 2/3 while brushing my teeth in a morning, a couple more to myself while at work etc, I'm finding that they help me a lot, they really give me a boost.
