Silicosis

Silicosis is caused by excessive and prolonged exposure to silica (quartz) dust. It is a disease in the lungs which can cause chest pain, exhaustion, shallow breath, dry cough, asthma and any other signs of circulatory difficulties. The disease is irreversible, treatment is for managing the symptoms. Oxygen therapy, avoiding smoking and medication can be used in treatment.
